postheadericon QNAP TS-269 Pro review: A fast and powerful NAS box with a steep learning curve

Undeniably fast QNAP NAS hardware? there??? The boxes are constantly in company performance charts above PCWorld. The TS-269 Pro is no exception, being the faster overall with two compartments NAS box that we analyzed in our test platform. The margin of victory, however, Wasna? T so great. What really sets this unit $ 600 (unpopulated), apart from the crowd is its many software features and superior connectivity.

The TS-269 Pro features a dual-core 2.13GHz Intel Atom D2700 CPU and 1 GB of memory (which is expandable up to 3GB, with the single SODIMM slot free). One of my few complaints about the TS-269 Pro is the removal of the housing cover to access the memory location was a bit of a complex sweet baby with nothing to grasp. QNAP populated our test unit with two 1TB Western Digital hard WD10EFRX reflected in RAID 1. The unit is delivered without drive normally.
Minor

My only complaint concerns the TS-269 Pro contrary Port Array class. The front USB port, normally used to quickly copy the contents of a USB flash drive, USB 2.0 only. I am now using USB thumb drives and 3.0 is almost exclusively behind the camera to access both significantly faster USB 3.0 Ports is a little pain. Otherwise, everything is good, two Gigabit Ethernet ports with failover and union, one eSATA port and two USB 2.0 ports. There is also a Kensington lock port for attaching the device to your desktop or shelf, and an HDMI port to output HD content and the supervision of a monitor or TV.
