Monitored Alarm Systems

Who is really worrying, because some companies overblock certain content and to feel that they have the right to insert in their ability to communicate. A few years ago, we noticed that Facebook has blocked links to everyone from The Pirate Bay. Asked about this, the company said that due to the "controversy" around the area, which was to assume that all links from TPB is violated and is violating the terms of service site. It seems that Microsoft is on a similar path. Apparently you can not send a link to TPB through its Live IM messaging tool. I've never used Windows Messenger so that you can not prove it, but it's pretty ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the explanation, since apparently people said that the site was "declared to be dangerous."

As noted on TorrentFreak, all makes little sense that many others are perfectly content sharable via Live Messenger:

whatever the reason for Microsoft to monitor private conversations, then swallow Pirate Bay links, the policies of the Redmond-based censorship are not very coherent. All other large BitTorrent sites remain unaffected, even if they contain content that is identical to the Pirate Bay.


This is of concern in a number of fronts. First, a link itself should never be considered as the offender. Can be contained at the end of a series of links that are violated, but the block in the link is really extreme and dangerous. Secondly, of course, is that all contents of BPD has been violated. Yes, many, it is almost certain to break. But everything is automatically decide and not let people share these links is extreme and dangerous. Cut the legitimate expression should never be an option. Finally, fear, really, is the idea that Microsoft seems to be controlling the content that is shared in private communication between two people in an IM conversation. It seems a very strong reason not to use Microsoft Live Messenger
