This month the doctor discusses CPU temperature dual boot, 7 and 8 hybrid units for the game, and more

want to build a system based on the threat of medium-sized PC, with the exception of 32 GB RAM, Asus GTX 670 DirectCU TOP and Windows 8 video card. My questions revolve around the touch screen user interface. Is the Asus GTX 670 Dual Touch Monitor units with ports you have, and what is the difference between the types of monitors?

- Clayton Lieck

The doctor answers:

hyper 212 evo touch capabilities of most monitors are not motivated by the graphics card. Instead, a USB send the coordinates and location of the computer screen. The Asus GTX 670 supports up to four monitors, two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort. It runs two touchscreen monitors (or any other monitor) without any problem, provided you have the right answers and you have two free USB ports. Regarding the type of monitor for, you will need a projected capacitive screen with multitouch capabilities, it does not be cheap. Affordable touch monitors today use infrared, which is more limited in the resolution and capacitive multi-touch capability. Microsoft needs at least five points for a multitouch device to be certified for Windows 8, then you should look for a monitor that is advertised as compatible with Windows 8. You also want one with a color bezel, as many touch features of Windows 8 are based on the ability to slide on and off the edge of the screen. A window leading interfere with that.

CPU temperature differences

'm running an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T CPU overclocked to 3.9GHz on an MSI 970A G45 board, a cooler Zalman CNPS9900, 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM and a AMD Radeon HD 6950 video card.

noticed that internal temperatures in their review of the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and was curious why mine much lower races. Running Prime95, my burning temperatures never exceeded 58 degrees Celsius and my idle temperatures are still running around 28 C, according to both CoreTemp. When I saw your heart temperature machine i7-3960X test my first thought was that it was awfully close to what I consider the maximum safe operating temperature of 80 ? C. Is it just CPU run so hot?

Richard wants to know why our Hyper 212 is not capable of cooling as well as the

I run my test several times during the process of my CPU parameters and the truth is I have not changed much. When I test my 1090T six-core is a 100 per cent. Why the difference?

- Richard Gray

The doctor answers:

There are several reasons why we see different temperatures of CPU burn in ours, Richard. The first is that they are different processors. The Phenom II X6 1090T is an AMD processor and a slightly lower profile Thermal Design (125W against 130W). Units now include Intel chips power control point which monitors energy and thermal properties of nuclei consumption. The doctor thinks that it allows the Intel chip to push too hard. Intel generally have a higher level of safe operation, because they can go to about 90 ? C before they will start to choke to avoid damage. AMD usually be kept within 60 ? C or less. Remember also that the TDP rating of each company and the thermal characteristics are difficult to compare directly.

Then there is the difference between the performance of your PC and our test. Your PC is a machine every day, while ours is designed to run the CPU as hot as possible in order to better highlight the capacity of coolers tested. The CPU is overclocked and overvolted and subjected to stress-test tool Intel processors warming more than any tool available to the public that we have seen. The stress testing tool is designed to heat all the circuits of the chip, while the majority of public stress tests can not do that. During the day for daily use in the Core i7-3960X is much cooler.

Seagate Momentus XT dual boot Windows 7 and 8

I have a PC with a 1TB hard drive. I want to buy an SSD and install Windows 8 on it. Will I be able to choose the drive to boot the PC? I searched for the answer on how to do it, without success.

Microsoft really really easy this time. All you have to do is install the SSD in your computer and boot your computer from the installation disc of Windows 8. Install Windows 8 on the SSD. Once you've gone through the installation process, Windows 8 will launch a screen asking you to choose which operating system to boot by default. From now on, if you do not choose another operating system on this screen during startup, the computer boots to the default value.

Clean XP upgrade to 8?

line've been recording for some time with a Windows XP system that I used mainly for playing WoW, but with the lower cost of the upgrade to Windows 8 dollars I am research dive in. If I buy the upgrade to Windows 8, based on my Windows XP license, can I be able to do a clean install, or require I have XP installed first, then pop in the disc Windows 8? I looked at building a new system, and that this could be an inexpensive way to reach a new operating system, and retire to the old pasture. What you do not want to happen is for making load XP on it for the first time.
