After five years behind closed doors, a researcher at Lockheed Martin 's Intelligent Robotics Laboratories in New Jersey have a prototype of the "Samarai," DARPA is developing a tiny surveillance drone job. The Nano Air Vehicle (NAV), modeled after a fall leaf maple seeds are designed, super lightweight and maneuverable hover stand for vertical, and the navigation in confined spaces are. Like your favorite $ 5 Subway sammie this surveillance bots are a foot long, but instead shoveled into the mouth, they 're like boomerangs thrown into the flight and checked with the help of a tablet or a basic remote control application. These eyes in the sky is officially next week at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Conference, but until then you can watch the video below from their first flight.
