Google gets to grips with 'geek aesthetics'
inventors of technologies used and investors - but not always look good. Now the race to give the new sleeker gadgets
hip, it's hot, but it looks good? Mobile technology has become one of the most interesting aspects of the technology industry, designers find inspiration for new inventions and to attract investors willing to pay cash money in potentially spinning ideas.
Googlecrystal glasses that allow you to surf the Web while walking down the street to the golf gloves that tell you how to balance better, or a smart shirt capable of measuring temperature and you cool, is a growing field.
But amidst all the excitement about what "mobile tech" could make consumers equally important debate has emerged in what might be called "geek aesthetic." Forget work: a way of thinking. Many experts now believe that wealth in the mobile technology industry both encourage people to fashion as performing a useful service.
"Why would you need more than these?" Said Chris Matyszczyk, a writer on the site CNET Tech. "So the big question is whether there will or will not look good when you put them on. "
not a minor issue. Google glass is probably the most hyped piece of mobile technology at the time. The Internet research firm asked people to ask to bring their revolutionary device - you can let people send e-mails, search the Internet or make photos via voice commands and a small screen - for as they move in their daily lives. But a person who has a kind of high-tech lenses similar to Google - mobile technology pioneer Steve Mann, University of Toronto - recently said he was assaulted in a fast food restaurant in Paris because of them
obvious, image is everything, especially in a world that can still be cruel to those seeking expert who venture into public with his latest invention. Even Google co-founder Sergey Brin has discovered this the hard way: when you took a picture of him sitting in the subway in New York with his glass eye Google led a wave of derision among many commentators. "Sergey Brin looked terrible. Was it not a nerd in the subway," said Matyszczyk. Perhaps aware of these concerns, Google is reported to be close to reaching an agreement with the ultra-modern Warby Parker eyewear manufacturer to manufacture glass frames Google.'s New York firm that sells "vintage inspired designs," it quickly became one of the biggest names in eyewear. sophisticated Fashion conscious perhaps nervous design using Google, but Warby Parker features that can do the same things.
- In fact, the form has long been the height depending on the technology: the primary beneficiary is Apple. Dependence on corporate brand intelligent design has helped him become a global giant, just like the real utility of its smartphones. "Apple was the best at it," said Matyszczyk. "But there is a difference between the appearance of something in you, something that you use." For advocates of the potential of mobile technology, there is a waiting boat as possible for those who need it. Apple itself is the development of a "smart" and is ready to deploy its expertise to make something beautiful that consumers feel they must have. "Any product with success in the technology used to be fashionable," said Nitin Bhas, an analyst at Juniper Research.
Sabine Seymour, author of the book
technology mode: the intersection of design, fashion, science and technology is one of the most advanced thinkers and designers leading the field. She works on the combination of aesthetic fashion of nanoscience and chemical engineering. "This is a new wave. People are looking for something new and I am happy to be part of it, "he said.
