John Rogers returns with a silicon-silk circuit that dissolves inside your body
While you'd be forgiven for not knowing that John Rogers, which was published in these pages probably more than once. He is the director of research at the University of Illinois is already an innovator in the world of invisibility cloak and mobile technology. This time a team has cooked silicon, magnesium oxide, magnesium and silk circuit that is designed to dissolve in the body the same way as absorbable sutures are used in minor surgery. It is believed that the technology could eventually be used to implement monitors never eliminate, reduce invasive medical procedures, or even build devices that eventually become compost instead of e-waste - although we are not sure we appreciate our smartphone do the same thing when we call rain.
