postheadericon Review: Camtasia Studio 8 raises the bar on interactive video creation

Over the years, TechSmith Camtasia has gone from being the go-to program for software protesters in a video tool with all the functions of education / information. With version 8, Camtasia Studio ($ 299, 30 day free trial) has not only added features? news?? Video editing, including integrated multi-track hyperlinks???? But it has been rewritten from scratch with the new optimized code and greater impact.

If you watch a video on YouTube that explains how to edit in Photoshop, write in Word, or do something in a program, the video was probably created with Camtasia recording, the essential function of origin Camtasia Studio. Captures and displays the activity on screen, such as cursor movement, menu options, and other interactions interface is quite simple. Click the Record button, and everything you do on the computer screen is saved until you click the Stop button. The results are quite soft, even when capturing complex environments on the screen. This is because new Camtasia capture engine is optimized for high-definition video, and now you can save up to 30 frames per second. (Version 7 with a downward trend at 5-10 frames per second.)

But once you get into the video editor, version 8 is clearly a new type of program. The new multi-track interface can import video from other sources, includinga MP4, MPG, MPEG, WMV, MOV, SWF, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, WAV, MP3, WMA and zipper library. (However, only import Camtasia Studio video and audio to a file. Mov, instead of several tracks. Addition, only SWF created from earlier versions of Jing or Camtasia Studio can import.). You can even view multiple video windows on a single screen and play them simultaneously. You can name and group tracks. Moreover, publishing field, such as animations, zoom / pan and other effects can be applied to an entire group, thus saving a lot of time and effort.
